Gresham’s School
Just 4 miles from the North Norfolk coast, Gresham's is a mixed independent day and boarding school with a linked prep school.
Ideal student
An engaged, down-to-earth pupil who wants breadth without feeling boxed in. Particularly well suited to creative or sporty l children - and to families looking for one school that can work for very different siblings.
Main sports
Rugby, hockey, cricket, football and netball are the mainstays, all with strong fixture lists and multiple teams.
Stand-out facilities
The creative spaces are a real draw here. The Dyson building is exceptional for art and STEAM, the Britten building is excellent for music, and the Auden Theatre gives drama serious professional polish.
Saturday school
Yes - Saturdays are busy with fixtures and school life carries on at a healthy pace.
Did you know?
Gresham’s has its own record label, with pupils recording and editing performances for release online.
Our takeaway
A happy, confident all-rounder with real character. Gresham’s manages the tricky balance of being properly creative without becoming flaky, and properly sporty without letting that dominate everything else. A relaxed, country-set school with a distinctly Norfolk sensibility.
"Gresham’s is not a production line which designs curriculum with the sole focus of climbing the school league tables."
